Okay, so, today I wanted to try something new with my style, and it hit me – why not mess around with my Nike Cortez and those Dickies pants I’ve got? I’ve seen some folks rocking this combo, and I was curious to see how it’d turn out for me.
First things first, I grabbed my classic white Nike Cortez. I love these shoes; they’re super comfy and go with almost anything. Then, I picked out my navy blue Dickies 874 work pants. These pants are tough and have that cool, relaxed fit that I dig.
Getting Started
I started by putting on the Dickies. They felt great, as always, with that sturdy, kind of stiff feel that I appreciate. I rolled up the cuffs just a bit – about two inches or so. I think it gives a nice little detail and shows off the shoes better. Next up, the Cortez. I slipped them on and tied them up, making sure they were snug but not too tight. I wanted to be comfortable walking around all day.
Experimenting
Now, I needed to figure out the top. I tried a few things here. First, I went with a plain white tee. Classic, simple, can’t go wrong, right? It looked pretty good, I gotta say. The white tee matched the shoes, and the navy pants provided a nice contrast. But I wanted to try more.
Next, I threw on a slightly oversized, light gray hoodie. This was more my vibe. It felt casual and relaxed, perfect for a day out. I liked how the hoodie’s color complemented the shoes without being too matchy-matchy. Plus, it was a bit chilly out, so the extra layer was nice.
The Look
- Shoes: Classic white Nike Cortez
- Pants: Navy blue Dickies 874, cuffed at the ankles
- Top Option 1: Plain white tee
- Top Option 2: Light gray oversized hoodie
The Verdict
Honestly, I was pretty stoked with how it all came together. The Nike Cortez and Dickies combo is a winner in my book. It’s comfortable, it looks good, and it feels like a good balance of classic and modern. The white tee was cool for a cleaner look, but the hoodie definitely made it more “me.” I ended up going with the hoodie.
I wore this outfit out to grab coffee and walk around the park, and I felt great. Got a couple of nods from people who seemed to appreciate the look, too. It’s definitely a combo I’ll be rocking again. If you’ve got some Cortez and Dickies lying around, give it a try. You might be surprised at how well they work together!
Anyway, that was my little style experiment for the day. Hope you found it interesting! Let me know if you’ve tried this combo or if you have other ideas on how to style the Nike Cortez. I’m always up for trying new things.
