Okay, so, today I wanted to talk about something a little different, someone rather, Nina Davies. I got into this whole thing a few weeks back, and it’s been quite a ride, let me tell you.

It all started when I stumbled upon this name, Nina Davies, while I was down some internet rabbit hole, you know how it is. It mentioned she was born in 1881 in, get this, Salonika, Greece. Her real name was Anna Macpherson Cummings. This already sounds interesting, right?
So, I started digging, you know, just to see what this Nina Davies was all about. Turns out, she was an artist and an Egyptologist! I mean, how cool is that? A woman back in the late 1800s, early 1900s, doing that kind of stuff. I was immediately hooked.
I spent hours going through anything I could find online. It wasn’t easy, I have to admit. There’s not a ton of stuff about her, but I pieced together what I could. There are lots of things about other Nina. It’s a little bit hard for me. But I still found something. I even found some mentions of her in relation to someone named Millie and some drama about a guy named Andy. Seemed like some serious stuff went down, but the details were fuzzy.
One thing that really got me was this idea of her searching for the truth and family she never knew, but I didn’t find much more about this. The whole “historical lens” thing, you know, it’s fascinating. It made me think about how much history gets lost or twisted over time.
And then there was this other thing about her, like, questioning the spiritual world or God? I found it was hard to know. Sounded deep, but again, not a lot to go on.
I also tried to see if I could find any of her art. I love old drawings and paintings, especially from that era. No luck there, sadly.
My goal, initially, was to just learn a bit about her life and maybe see some of her work. But it turned into this whole mini-obsession. I felt like I was putting together a puzzle, but a lot of the pieces were missing. I was like a detective but without all the evidence.
Anyway, I managed to create a rough timeline of her life, at least the major events that were recorded. I used all sorts of sources, some more reliable than others, I’m sure. But that’s part of the fun, right? Trying to figure out what’s real and what’s not.
After all that, did I feel like I really knew Nina Davies? Not really. But I did get a glimpse into this fascinating woman’s life, and that’s something. It made me want to learn even more about that time period, and about all the other forgotten women who were doing amazing things back then.
So yeah, that’s my Nina Davies story. A bit of a wild goose chase, but a fun one. It just goes to show, you never know what you’ll find when you start digging into the past. It’s like opening a dusty old book and finding a whole world inside.
