Okay, so, today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure trying to recreate some of Princess Diana’s iconic ski looks. I mean, who wouldn’t want to channel their inner royal on the slopes, right?

Getting Started
First things first, I had to do some digging. I spent hours scrolling through old photos of Diana, trying to figure out what brands she wore back in the day. Turns out, she was a big fan of designers like Versace, Armani, and Chanel, but for skiing, she kept it pretty practical.
The Gear
I found out that she often wore these bright, almost neon-colored ski suits in the late ’80s. So I went on a mission to find something similar. I hit up a bunch of vintage stores and even looked online, but no luck. I ended up having to settle for some modern ski gear that had a similar vibe – bright colors, you know?
Then there was that red puffer jacket she wore in Austria in ’94. That one was a bit easier to find a modern equivalent for. I found a fire-engine red puffer jacket and paired it with some black ski pants. Not exactly the same, but it felt pretty close!
The Trip
Now, Diana was known to ski in Lech, Austria. I saved up some money and I booked a trip there! When I got off the bus, I immediately recognized Hotel Arlberg, it’s where Diana always stayed! That was cool.
I spent a day skiing, trying to imagine Diana on those same slopes. It was pretty surreal, I gotta say. People kept taking my picture. I guess it’s not every day you see someone trying to recreate royal ski looks. People kept asking about Diana, I think they were trying to see if I knew something they didn’t, ha!

The Outcome
All in all, it was a fun experience. Did I perfectly recreate Diana’s ski style? Probably not. But I definitely felt a little bit closer to her, and I had a blast doing it. Plus, I got some pretty cool photos out of it! And it made me appreciate her style even more. She really knew how to make a statement, even on the ski slopes.
But hey, it was a fun trip, and I got to ski in a place that has some real history. And I learned a bit more about Princess Diana along the way. Not a bad way to spend a vacation, if you ask me!
