This old lady, I remember things, yeah, things from way back. 2010, that year, hairstyles, I remember them like it was yesterday. Lots of different styles, some I liked, some I didn’t. But that’s how it goes, right? Different strokes for different folks.
Hair Colors Back Then, 2010 Hair Trends
Oh, the colors! 2010 hair trends, they were something else. You see those young girls, hair all different colors. Some had dark hair at the top, light at the bottom. They called it “ombre” or something. Sounded like a food to me, but what do I know? And “balayage” another one of them fancy words. It was all about lookin’ like you didn’t try too hard, I guess. Like you just woke up like that. But we all know it takes work to look that “natural”, don’t we?
Red hair, that was big. Not just regular red, but all kinds of red. Bright red, dark red, you name it. And silver, some girls had silver hair. Like an old lady, but they were young! Ash-blonde too, that was in. And those pastel colors, pink, purple, blue, like a rainbow on their heads. Not for me, but they seemed to like it. Me? I like my natural color, thank you very much.
- Ombre – dark at the roots, light at the ends.
- Balayage – some kind of fancy way to paint the hair, I guess.
- Red – all kinds of red, everywhere.
- Silver and ash-blonde – like old ladies, but on young girls.
- Pastels – pink, purple, blue, like a candy store.
Haircuts in 2010, It Was a Thing
The cuts, oh boy, the cuts. Not too short, not too long, somewhere in between. Down to your neck, maybe to your arms. But no bangs, no sir. Bangs were out, they said. 2010 hair trends, no bangs allowed! You know that word “lob”? It was a popular haircut that time. And there is another haircut called undercut, they shave some part of the head and let the other part longer.
And the boys! Don’t even get me started on the boys. They had this thing, they called it a “man bun”. Tied their hair up like a little girl. I don’t know, I just don’t know. Back in my day, boys had short hair. Simple, clean. Not like these days. It was also a 2010 hair trends, these boys.
How They Styled It, 2010 Styles
They had these waves, they called them “beachy waves”. Like they just came from the beach, all messy and whatnot. But they used sprays and stuff to make it look like that. Not natural at all. And straight hair, that was in too. Straight as a board. Parted right down the middle. They used those hot irons, I saw them. Could burn your hair right off, I bet. But they liked it. That’s one of the 2010 hair trends, too.
And braids, braids were everywhere. Not just regular braids, all kind of fancy braids. Bohemian, they said it was. I don’t know what that means, but they looked complicated. Took a long time, I bet. Updos, they called them, with the braids all piled up on their heads. Like a bird’s nest. Not for me, too much work. But the young girls, they loved it.
Remembering 2010 Hair, My Thoughts
So, yeah, 2010 hair trends, it was a time. Lots of changes, lots of new things. Some good, some bad, like everything else. I’m not saying it was a bad time, just different. People did what they wanted to with their hair and there were so many choices. And now, you see them, years later, they are changing it again. That’s how it goes. Always changing, always something new. But this old lady, I remember. I remember it all. And I’m not saying I like it more or less than today’s styles, that’s for them young people to decide, not me.
It’s kind of funny, looking back. All those trends, all those styles. And now, they’re old news. But that’s life, ain’t it? Things come and go. What’s popular one day is gone the next. But the memories, those stay. Like this old lady’s memory of those 2010 hairstyles. They’ll stick with me, for better or worse. Just like my gray hairs.
You know, kids today will look back one day and they are going to be talking about their hairstyle trends just like me. And it is going to be the same thing, they will be saying the same things as me.
