Okay, so I’ve been hearing about this Santal 33 perfume everywhere lately. You know, it’s that one that all the cool girls are supposedly wearing. I saw it mentioned in some magazine, saying even Jodie Comer wears it, and I was like, “Okay, I gotta try this.” Woody scents used to be more for guys, but this one’s supposed to be unisex, which is pretty cool.

I finally got my hands on a bottle. It was launched back in 2011, so it’s not exactly new, but it’s having a moment, I guess. First thing I did was, obviously, spray it on. The first whiff I got was kinda leathery, you know? And definitely woody. They say it’s got sandalwood and cedar, and I could smell that, but there was also something else… something creamy, almost like coconut or something.
Then, it changed a bit. It got a little, I don’t know, food-y? Like, nutty or something. There was this weird note that I couldn’t quite place, kinda like dill, but not in a bad way. It was interesting, I gotta say. I kept sniffing my wrist, trying to figure it out.
Trying It Out All Day
I decided to wear it out for a whole day to see how it really lasted and if it changed even more. I sprayed it on in the morning before heading out to meet some friends. Throughout the day, I kept getting whiffs of it, and it was nice. It wasn’t too strong, but it was definitely there. It felt kinda fancy, but not too fancy, you know? Like I could wear it with jeans and a t-shirt and still feel put together.
Later on, I went to this little art gallery opening thing. And this girl came up to me and was like, “Oh my god, you smell amazing! What are you wearing?” And I was like, “It’s Santal 33.” She’d never heard of it, which made me feel kinda cool, like I was in on some secret. We ended up talking about perfumes for a while, and it was a nice little moment.
My Thoughts on Santal 33
So, yeah, after wearing it for a full day, I think I get the hype. It’s definitely a unique scent. It’s warm and woody, but also kinda sweet and complex. It’s not like anything else I’ve worn before. I’ve been using it almost every day, but sometimes not, depending on my mood, and it is expensive, so I try not to overuse it.

- It’s versatile: I think you could wear it day or night, for pretty much any occasion.
- It’s long-lasting: I could still smell it on myself at the end of the day.
- It’s unique: It’s not your typical floral or fruity perfume. It’s got its own thing going on.
I don’t know if it’s gonna become my signature scent or anything, but I definitely like it. It’s a nice addition to my perfume collection. If you’re into woody, slightly sweet scents, and you want something a little different, I’d say give it a try. You might be surprised.
Oh, and one more thing! They say it’s inspired by the American West, like the desert and stuff. I don’t know if I get that vibe exactly, but it does have a certain rawness to it, I guess. Anyway, that’s my little adventure with Santal 33. Hope you found it interesting!
