Alright, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about this Seiko Space Watch, and you know I had to jump on the bandwagon. I mean, who doesn’t want a piece of space history, right?

First thing I did was hit up the internet, doing some digging to see what this watch was all about. I saw a bunch of stuff about it being a follow-up to some legendary space watch and something about a “Pogue” colorway? Whatever that meant. It looked cool, though, all yellow and whatnot. Definitely stood out from my usual boring watch collection.
I also stumbled upon some online chatter, people talking about where to buy one. Someone mentioned Sakura Watches, and said they had a good experience. I figured, why not? I went for it. And oh boy, there are so many different versions. It’s a bit crazy, I did find one in there that was like $1060, and it was pretty darn nice, but I didn’t go for it, since I’m planning on getting the cheaper ones.
Now, the pricing was a whole other thing. I found out that some of these Seiko 5 watches can be as cheap as 100 bucks on the secondary market! I mean, that’s practically a steal. I’m all about that budget life, so I started looking into those.
The one I ended up eyeing was part of the Prospex Speedtimer line. Turns out, these are dive watches, which I didn’t even know I needed in my life, but now I do. This particular one is on the smaller side for a Seiko dive watch, I guess, something like 40.5 x 47.8 x 13.9mm. It’s got a domed sapphire crystal, which sounds fancy. And it’s supposed to be pretty solid, you know, for all those underwater adventures I’m definitely going to have.
So, I pulled the trigger and ordered one. It hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m already itching to try it on. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes. Maybe I’ll even start timing my showers with it, just for kicks. Stay tuned!
