Okay, so, you know how sometimes you hear about these movie anniversaries? Well, I recently got wind of one that really took me back. It’s the 25th anniversary of “The Mummy”! Can you believe it? It’s been 25 years since that movie first hit theaters. Feels like just yesterday I was watching it for the first time.

So, what did I do? Naturally, I started looking up to see if there was anything special going on for this anniversary. And guess what? Universal Pictures decided to re-release the movie in theaters! I was so pumped when I read that. I immediately started to check if any theaters around me were doing showings. It wasn’t hard to find the info, thanks to sites like Fandango and Megaplex Theatres.
I found out that the showings started on April 26th, and it was for a limited time, like a one-week thing. I marked my calendar, made sure I had the date right, because I didn’t want to miss this. I mean, it’s “The Mummy” we’re talking about! Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, the whole adventure in Hamunaptra, it’s classic!
Next up, I had to get tickets. So, I visited the Fandango website. It was pretty easy to navigate, honestly. They had all the showtimes listed, and I even saw that you could earn double rewards for buying a ticket. Nice little bonus, right?
- Checked the dates: April 26th, for one week only.
- Looked up theaters: Found listings on Fandango and Megaplex Theatres.
- Got the tickets: Easy purchase on Fandango, plus double rewards.
I also did a bit more digging, just because I was curious. Apparently, this movie was a huge deal back in 1999. It was directed by Stephen Sommers, and it’s this wild mix of action and adventure. And it’s actually a new take on a film from way back in 1932, which I thought was pretty cool.
My Plan of Action
So, I’ve got my ticket, I know where I’m going, and I’m all set to relive the adventure. I’m really looking forward to seeing it on the big screen again. It’s going to be a blast from the past, and I’m here for it. “The Mummy” is back, even if it’s just for a little while, and I’m ready to enjoy every minute of it.

By the way, I noticed that the trilogy is on Peacock. I might have to do a marathon this weekend!
That’s pretty much it. I got my ticket and prepared to go to the theater for the movie. It turned out to be a great experience! The movie is as good as I remembered. And it was fun to see it with other fans. I even got to chat with some of them after the movie, and we all agreed that it’s a classic that still holds up today.
