Okay, so I’ve been wanting to make this vintage moonstone bead necklace for a while now. I finally got around to doing it, and I thought I’d share the whole process with you guys, just in case you’re into this kind of stuff.

First, I gathered all my materials. I mean, you can’t start a project without the right stuff, right? I already had some moonstone beads that I’d picked up a while back. I love that milky, bluish glow they have – it’s so unique! I also made sure I had some stringing material, clasps, and a few other bits and pieces.
Next, I laid out all the beads to get an idea of the design I wanted. I played around with the order of the beads for a bit, trying to find a pattern that felt right. I decided to go for a simple, classic look, just letting the natural beauty of the moonstones shine through.
- First, I took the stringing material and measured out the length I wanted for the necklace. It’s always better to have a bit extra, you know? You can always trim it down later.
- Then, I started stringing the beads. I tied a knot at one end of the string and added a clasp, just to make sure the beads wouldn’t go flying everywhere.
- One by one, I added each moonstone bead to the string. It was a bit time-consuming, yeah, but also kind of relaxing.
Once all the beads were on, I added the other half of the clasp to the other end of the string. Then came the moment of truth – trying it on! I fastened the clasp and looked at myself in the mirror. It looked pretty good if I do say so myself! I might add some little charms or something later, just to give it a bit of extra flair.
Check If The Moonstone is Real
Oh, and before I forget, I also did a little test to make sure my moonstones were real. I just held them up under a bright light and looked at them from above. I could see that beautiful blue and white glow, so I guess they’re the real deal. I read somewhere online that you need to recharge your moonstones after you clean them, but I didn’t do anything like that.
And that’s it! My very own vintage moonstone bead necklace. It wasn’t too hard to make, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I wore it out the other day and got a few compliments, which was nice. I think moonstone jewelry is supposed to have some benefits, like emotional balance and spiritual growth and whatever, but I just like how it looks. Maybe I’ll make some matching earrings next, what do you think?
