Tiger Beat Covers: Where to Find the Coolest Ones?

Date:

Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – “Tiger Beat” covers. Yeah, that old teen magazine. I got this idea to collect a bunch of them, from way back in the day to now. It’s been a trip, let me tell you.

Tiger Beat Covers: Where to Find the Coolest Ones?

First, I started digging around online, trying to find as many “Tiger Beat” covers as I could. I hit up Pinterest, which is a goldmine for this kind of stuff. There are boards dedicated to these covers, can you believe it? I found a couple of users, Brenda Thensted and Cheryl Riley, who have a ton of them pinned. That was a good start.

Then, I started organizing them by decade. The 80s covers are wild – super bright colors and goofy fonts. It’s like stepping back in time. I learned that “Tiger Beat” was started by a guy named Charles Laufer, who sadly passed away recently. Seems like the magazine was a big deal back then, especially for teenage girls. It was full of pictures of cute guys, which I guess was the whole point.

  • Gathering the Covers: I spent hours, maybe days, just scrolling and saving images. My computer is probably full of them now.
  • Sorting and Comparing: I made folders for each decade and started dropping the covers in. It was cool to see how the style changed over the years.
  • Reading Up on History: I did a little reading about “Tiger Beat” and its history, just to get some context. It used to be sold in stores, but now it’s just online.

Honestly, the whole thing became a bit of an obsession. I just kept finding more and more covers. It’s kind of crazy how many different versions there are. I even read that the September issue is going to be the first under new ownership. I was like “whattttttt??”.

Why Am I Doing This?

Well, it’s fun, for one thing. I’m not even a teenage girl, but it’s interesting to see how pop culture has changed. And it’s a nice little trip down memory lane. Plus, it’s kind of cool to have this digital collection of “Tiger Beat” history.

So yeah, that’s my “Tiger Beat” cover project. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m not even done yet. Who knows what other covers I’ll uncover? I mean, it’s been a blast so far, and I just wanted to share my little adventure with you guys. It’s been a wild trip, but a good one. I think my collection is pretty unique, you know?

Anyway, I am gonna keep digging, and maybe I’ll share some more of my findings later on. You never know what treasures you’ll find when you start exploring the past, right? Hope you enjoyed my little story. It’s a bit messy and all over the place, but that’s just how I roll. Peace out!
