Man, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a pair of maroon and gold dunks for a while now. You know, those ones that rep the Arizona State Sun Devils? Finally decided to go for it, so I started hunting for them online.
After some digging, I found a few places that had them. I ended up grabbing a pair from a site that had them at a decent price. I pulled the trigger and placed my order.
While I was waiting for them to arrive, I started thinking about how I wanted to rock them. The shoes feature a smooth leather upper with a deep maroon base and university gold overlays, so I knew I needed to let them be the star of the show.
- Laces: First off, the laces. I learned there are tons of ways to lace up Dunks. I mean, I usually just do the classic criss-cross, but I figured I’d try something new. Maybe that’s also a nice idea.
- Outfit: For the outfit, I was thinking a simple pair of jeans would do the trick. Jeans are pretty versatile, and they’d go well with the shoes.
A few days later, the shoes finally arrived! I ripped open the box and there they were, looking even better in person than they did online. It feels so good.
I tried them on, and they fit perfectly. Then, I started experimenting with different lacing styles. I tried a few of the ones I had seen online, but in the end, I decided to stick with the classic criss-cross. It just felt right, you know?
For the outfit, I threw on a pair of dark-wash jeans. Then, I added a plain white T-shirt. I wanted to keep it simple so that the shoes would really pop. I think I’ve made a great choice.
I wore the whole getup out to meet some friends, and I got a ton of compliments on the shoes. Everyone was asking me where I got them and how much they cost. It was a great feeling, let me tell you.
All in all, I’m super happy with my maroon and gold dunks. They’re comfortable, stylish, and they definitely make a statement. And I feel I’ve shared something really great today.
