Okay, so I was messing around with my wardrobe the other day, trying to figure out what to wear with this tan jacket I snagged from a thrift store. I mean, tan’s a pretty chill color, but it can be a pain to match sometimes, you know?

First, I grabbed a plain white tee. You can’t really go wrong with white, right? Threw it on with the tan jacket, and it looked alright. Clean, simple, nothing fancy. But it felt a little… boring.
Then, I remembered this light lavender shirt I had. Tried that on, and it was kinda nice! It gave off this soft, gentle vibe, which was cool. But I wasn’t totally sold on it.
- Tried a bunch of other stuff:
- A copper-colored scarf, which had a cool rustic look.
- This crazy pistachio green shirt – don’t ask me why, I just wanted to see what would happen. It was… interesting. Let’s just leave it at that.
- Even experimented with a purple tie. Surprisingly, it wasn’t half bad with the tan.
After all that, I realized something. Light colors, especially those super pale ones like optic white and really light lavender, they just don’t jive well with tan. And colors that are too close to tan? Forget about it. They just blend in and make you look like a walking blob of beige.
So, what did I end up with? Well, the white tee wasn’t a bad start. I think I’ll stick to that for a basic look. But I’m definitely going to play around more with that lavender and maybe the copper. They seem to have potential with a little more thought on it.
Conclusion
Yeah, matching with tan can be a bit of a journey. But hey, that’s half the fun of fashion, right? Trying stuff out, seeing what works, and sometimes ending up with some wild combinations. Just remember to steer clear of those super light colors and anything too close to tan itself, and you’re golden. Or, well, tan. You get what I mean.
