Okay, so I’ve been seeing “Prada Olfactories” pop up all over my social media feeds lately. You know how it is, everyone’s suddenly an expert on luxury fragrances. I got curious, but man, those things are expensive! I mean, we’re talking rare ingredients like oud oil and stuff. Anyway, I finally decided to bite the bullet and see what the fuss was about.

First, I started with some online research. The Prada website itself has this whole section on “Olfactories,” calling them “unexpected unisex fragrances.” Fancy, right? Apparently, this perfumer named Daniela Andrier worked with Miuccia Prada herself to create these scents. They’ve got all these categories too, like citrus, floral, ambery, and woody. I spent a good hour just browsing through their descriptions, trying to imagine what they’d smell like.
The Big Day
Then came the big day – I finally went to a store that carries Prada perfumes. I felt so out of place, surrounded by all these elegant bottles and well-dressed people. I beelined for the Olfactories section. There were ten of them, all in these sleek, minimalist bottles. I felt like I was in some sort of art gallery, not a perfume shop!
- Cargo de Nuit
- Day for Night
- Double Dare
- Heat Wave
- Marienbad
- Nue au Soleil
I started sniffing, trying to remember the descriptions I’d read online. It was overwhelming, to be honest. Each one was so different, so complex. They definitely weren’t your typical department store perfumes. Some were strong, some were subtle, some were, well, just weird, in a good way, of course! One of my friends told me that “Prada Paradoxe Intense is the way to go. It’s the most gorgeous fragrance. Get the Intense if you can but if not, the OG is beautiful too. ” Sounds great!
The Verdict
After what felt like hours, I narrowed it down to a few that I really liked. “Day for Night” was one of them, which is supposed to be an “amber” scent. The sales assistant told me it had styrax and sandalwood. Honestly, I had no idea what styrax was, but it smelled amazing. It was warm and a little bit spicy, I guess. “Sensual” is the word they use on the website, and yeah, I can see that.
In the end, did I buy one? Well, not yet. I spritzed some “Day for Night” on my wrist and decided to see how it developed throughout the day. It’s one of those perfumes that changes over time, you know? I wanted to make sure I really loved it before spending that kind of money. Plus, I wanted to see if it really did last all day and night, like some people claim. That is an experience I would try next time if I get enough budget. Overall, though, it was a fun experience. It felt like a little adventure into the world of high-end fragrances. I definitely understand why people are obsessed with Prada Olfactories. They’re not just perfumes, they’re like, experiences. Maybe one day, I’ll take the plunge and add one to my collection. For now, I’ll just keep dreaming and sniffing my wrist!
