That Kobe Venomenon, what a name, right? Sounds like some fancy, big city thing. But you know, it’s just shoes. Basketball shoes. My grandson, he’s crazy about them. Says everyone’s wearing them. Kobe this, Kobe that. All day long!
This Kobe, he was a big shot, I guess. Played basketball real good. People sure do love him, my grandson even cried when that Kobe died. Said he was the best who ever played. Now everyone wants his shoes, the Kobe Venomenon shoes. They come in all sorts of colors, these shoes. Black ones, gold ones, even some that look like a joker, whatever that means. They got this swoosh on the side, that’s how you know they’re the real deal, Nike they call them.
My grandson, he saved up all his money to buy these Nike Kobe Venomenon 5. Says they make him jump higher. I don’t know about all that. But he sure does love them. Runs around all day in them, even wears them to bed sometimes. He says they cost a lot now because they don’t make much anymore. He keeps sayin’ “supply and demand”, “supply and demand”, what’s that even mean, these kids, I don’t know. But he says it’s like a treasure, you know?
Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon 5, that’s what they call them. Zoom, like they’re gonna zoom around the court, I guess. These young folks and their fancy names. Back in my day, we just had shoes. Didn’t matter what they were called, long as they fit.

My grandson said that Kobe Venomenon 5 is the best, they help him play better or whatever. But that Kobe Venomenon 6, he says it’s no good, don’t fit right. You would think for all that money, they would make ’em good. But what do I know about these things? I just nod and smile. As long as he’s happy.
He showed me on his phone, all these places selling these shoes. That GOAT place, that StockX place, and some other place called eBay. He says you can buy and sell on there, like a trading post. They even sell used ones! Can you believe it? Paying good money for someone else’s old shoes.
There are so many Kobe Venomenon shoes, like number 4, number 5, number 6, and many more. He said number 6 is not good, but the Nike Kobe Venomenon 5 is good. I don’t know why, they all look like shoes to me.
They are all Nike Kobe shoes, I asked him, what’s Nike? He said it’s a big shoe factory. They make shoes for many people, like that Bron guy, that Book guy, and that Jas guy. I don’t know any of them. But he keeps saying that Kobe is the best. So maybe that’s why the Kobe Venomenon is so expensive.
He keeps on talking about Kobe Bryant. He said Kobe was a good basketball player, and these Kobe Venomenon shoes are his shoes. I don’t know much about basketball, but he likes it a lot. He said people love Kobe so much, now they are buying all his shoes, that’s why the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon 5 is so expensive now. People want it, but there isn’t much. Just like he said, “supply and demand”.
The other day, I saw some of them Kobe Venomenon 5 shoes for sale. $271! Can you believe that? For shoes! Back in my day, we’d be lucky to get a new pair for a few dollars. And they wouldn’t be no fancy Kobe Venomenon, neither. Just plain old shoes. But they say it is cheap now. There is even one for over $300, too much money.
There are some people buying a lot of the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon 5, and sell them for more money. My grandson said that’s why Nike took down all the Kobe shoes from their store. They don’t want people to buy a lot and sell for more money. I think those people are not good. They should not do that, so mean.
He said that Kobe 6 is the best basketball shoe ever. I don’t know what that means. But he said many people love it. He said the resale is crazy, I don’t know what “resale” means. But I think it means expensive. Too expensive for shoes.
These kids today, they sure are different. All this fuss over some shoes. But, like I said, as long as he’s happy. That’s all that matters. He can have all the Kobe Venomenon shoes he wants, as long as he keeps smiling like that. That’s worth more than any old shoe, any day.
