Alright, let’s talk about this Magnum PI watches thing, you know, that TV show with the fella in Hawaii. I watched it sometimes when I was cleaning houses, you know, the TV was always on in them big houses.
This Magnum fella, he was always running around, solving problems and such. And he had this fancy watch, I tell ya, a real shiny thing. People always talking about it online, seems like it’s a big deal.
Now, I ain’t no expert on watches, mind you. I got my own watch, got it from the Wal-Mart, works just fine. Tells the time, that’s all I need. But this Magnum watch, it’s different, I guess. They say it’s a Rolex, some fancy name like that.
- First off, they say it’s a Rolex GMT-Master. Sounds like something from outer space, don’t it? Half red and half blue, they say, like some kinda soda pop.
- And they say it’s got numbers all the way to 24! What in the world do you need that for? My watch goes to 12, that’s plenty.
They say this watch, it belonged to Magnum’s daddy in the show. Well, that’s nice, I guess. My grandma gave me a necklace once, but it ain’t worth nothin’ like this watch, I betcha.
Then there’s this other fella in the show, Rick, I think they called him. He had a watch too, but it wasn’t no Rolex. They say it’s a Speedmaster. Another fancy name. Seems like everyone on that show had good watches. Must be nice, huh?
Now, you can watch this Magnum PI show in lots of places, they tell me. Amazon Prime, they say, or Freevee, whatever that is. Some channel from New York, too. Back in my day, we had three channels, and that was enough! But these young folks, they gotta have everything on demand, I guess.
They also got this new Magnum show, they call it a reboot. Same fella, same Hawaii, but I hear it ain’t quite the same. The watches might be different too, who knows? I ain’t seen it myself, too busy with my gardenin’.
Anyways, this Magnum watch, it’s a big deal to some folks. They talk about it online all the time, like it’s some kinda treasure. And I guess it is, if you got the money for it. Me? I’ll stick with my Wal-Mart watch, thank you very much. It tells me when it’s time to eat, time to sleep, and time to take my medicine. That’s all I need.
This Magnum guy, he lived in a big house, drove a fancy car, and had this expensive watch. Living the high life, they call it. But I tell ya, happiness ain’t about fancy things. It’s about family, good food, and a roof over your head. And maybe a good TV show to watch sometimes, even if you don’t understand why everyone’s so crazy about the fella’s watch.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this Magnum PI watch thing. It’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. But it ain’t gonna make you happy. Happiness comes from inside, not from some shiny thing on your wrist. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go water my tomatoes.
