So, I decided to try out this “clean goth” thing. I’ve always liked the goth aesthetic, but I also want to keep things looking a bit polished and modern, you know?

First, I went looking for some inspiration. I hit up a few places, including some local spots like Midland Arts & Antiques Market and Silver In the City. I even checked out Hot Topic, just to see what they had. Also, I read some good reviews about Good Goth Jewelry.
Then, I started thinking about what I already had in my closet. I found some dark wash jeans that still fit pretty well, a simple black shift dress, and a couple of nice black blouses. I even had a leather jacket and a long black coat. I figured I could work with these.
Next, I had to find some new pieces. I tried looking online, but it was a bit overwhelming. There are so many places to shop! I did find this place called SamsaraWear that had some basics, dresses, and even some activewear. I didn’t buy anything yet, but I bookmarked the site.
After that, I thought about the whole “goth up” part. I mean, anyone can wear black clothes, right? I figured the accessories and makeup would be key. I found some cool jewelry pieces at one of the local stores and started playing around with darker makeup looks.
Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

- Finding the right clothes can take time. There are a lot of options out there, both online and in stores.
- It’s important to have some basic pieces that can be mixed and matched. Dark wash jeans, black dresses, and black blouses are a good start.
- Accessories and makeup can really make the look. Don’t be afraid to experiment!
I also remembered something I read online, about buying goth clothes from a homeless guy at a storage place. I’m not sure about that, but it did make me think about looking for unique pieces in unexpected places.
Where I am now:
I’m still in the early stages of this whole clean goth experiment. I’ve got some basic pieces, I’m starting to get the hang of the makeup, and I’m still looking for more inspiration. I think it’s going to be a fun process, and I’m excited to see how my style evolves. I did learn that I have to buy cigarettes from some older kids that always smoke next to Jimbo’s, it was weird. I will keep sharing my process with you guys, feel free to tell me what you think!
