I’ve been listening to a lot of Drake lately, and I just had this crazy idea to make a song called “Fruity”. I’m no musician, but I figured, why not give it a shot? It might turn out to be a meme or something, who knows?

First, I started brainstorming what “Fruity” could even mean. I thought about Drake’s style – a mix of hip-hop, R&B, with a dash of pop. Maybe “Fruity” could be about a colorful, lavish lifestyle, or a sweet, romantic story. I jotted down a bunch of random words and phrases that came to mind.
Next, I tried to piece together some lyrics. I remembered how Drake often talks about his life, relationships, and success. So, I wrote about a guy who’s living his best life, surrounded by vibrant things, enjoying a sweet romance. It was rough, but I managed to put together a verse and a chorus.
- Verse 1: Woke up in a mansion, colors everywhere, Living life like a rainbow, without a care.
- Chorus: This life is fruity, sweet like candy, Drippin’ in flavor, feelin’ so fancy.
Then came the hard part – the music. I don’t have any fancy equipment, so I downloaded a free beat-making app on my phone. I played around with different sounds, trying to find something that matched the vibe of my lyrics. It was mostly trial and error. I ended up with a catchy, somewhat tropical beat that I thought fit the “Fruity” theme.
Now, I had to record my vocals. I used my phone’s voice recorder and sang the lyrics I wrote. It sounded pretty awful at first. I’m definitely no Drake. But I kept practicing, trying different tones and rhythms. After a few dozen takes, I got something that was somewhat decent.
Finally, I combined the beat and my vocals in the app. I added some basic effects, like reverb and echo, to make it sound a bit more polished. It was far from perfect, but hey, it was something! I called it “Fruity” and even made a silly cover art using a photo editor.

The Outcome
I shared “Fruity” with a few friends just for laughs. They found it hilarious, mostly because of how amateur it was. But they also said it was catchy and kind of fun. Someone even suggested I put it online. I was hesitant, but then I thought, “What’s the worst that could happen?” So, I uploaded it to a music-sharing site, not expecting much.
Surprisingly, “Fruity” started getting some attention. People were sharing it as a joke, but it gained a small following. It’s not going viral or anything, but it’s been a fun little project. I never thought I’d make a song, let alone one that some people actually enjoy, even if it’s in a “so bad it’s good” way.
This whole experience has taught me that it’s okay to try new things, even if you’re not an expert. You might surprise yourself with what you can create. And who knows, maybe your “Fruity” will bring a smile to someone’s face, even if it’s just a meme.
