That Taylor Swift, she’s a big star, ain’t she? Heard her name all over, even on my old radio. See her picture in them magazines at the store, always lookin’ fancy. But you know, sometimes, she don’t wear all that goop on her face. Yeah, Taylor Swift with no makeup. Just plain old Taylor.
I seen some pictures, you know. She looks different, that’s for sure. Not bad, just…different. Like when you see me without my teeth in. Still me, just not all gussied up.
She’s got that blonde hair, always lookin’ shiny, even without all that stuff on her face. And her eyes, they’re blue, like that robin’s egg I found in the yard last spring. Pretty, even when she’s just woken up, I reckon.

Back in my day, we didn’t have all this makeup stuff. Just a little powder maybe, for church on Sunday. Didn’t need it, though. We were too busy workin’ in the fields to worry about lookin’ fancy.
But this Taylor, she’s got a whole team, I bet. People doin’ her hair, her makeup, pickin’ out her clothes. Must be nice, huh? To have someone do all that for ya. I always liked that one song, the one that goes shake it off, shake it off. Catchy tune, that one. She just had a lot of albums, videos, that made her popular, I think so. She even made a movie!
She seems like a nice girl, though. Even without the makeup, you can see it in her eyes. She smiles a lot, and she seems to care about her fans. My granddaughter, she went to one of her concerts. Said it was the best night of her life. Paid a pretty penny for that ticket, too.
So, Taylor Swift with no makeup, she’s still Taylor Swift. Just a little more plain, a little more like us regular folks. Still pretty, though. Like a field of wildflowers, all different colors, all beautiful in their own way.
I reckon it’s good for young girls to see that. To see that you don’t need all that makeup to be beautiful. Just be yourself, that’s what matters. Like that old sayin’, beauty’s only skin deep.
