Alright, guys, so I’ve been wanting to organize my watches for a while now. They were just scattered all over my dresser, and it was driving me nuts. So, I decided to build a simple wrist watch rack. Nothing fancy, just something to keep them in one place and easy to grab.

First, I measured my watches. Most of them are around 40mm, which is a pretty standard size. I also looked at the lug-to-lug measurement – that’s the distance from one end of the lugs to the other. This is important because you don’t want your watches bumping into each other on the rack. Also I considered my wrist size to make sure my watches are suitable for me. Some people prefer larger watches, like 42mm, but I like the 38mm ones for my smaller wrists. I guess you need to try and then decide. I don’t have too many watches, so I figured a small rack would be perfect.
Then, I grabbed some scrap wood I had lying around in my garage. I cut two pieces for the base and the top. I wanted the rack to be about 12 inches long, so I cut the wood accordingly. Then, I measured and marked where I wanted the dowels to go. I spaced them out evenly, leaving enough room for each watch.
- Drilled holes for the dowels.
- Inserted the dowels into the holes.
- Glued everything together.
- Let it dry overnight.
The next day, I sanded down any rough edges and gave it a quick coat of stain I had left over from another project. I mean, for sure you can choose to paint it another color or leave it natural, but I just used whatever I had on hand to keep it simple. And I am not a guy really good at handy work, you know. After the stain dried, I added some felt pads to the bottom so it wouldn’t scratch my dresser.

Boom! Done. It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works. My watches are now neatly organized, and I can easily find the one I want to wear. Plus, it was super cheap and easy to make. If you’re looking for a simple way to store your watches, I highly recommend giving this a try. You can customize it to fit your needs and your style. Hope you guys find this helpful!
