Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with those “bad manager” memes. You know, the ones that make fun of bosses who are clueless or just plain mean? I figured it’d be a fun way to kill some time and maybe even learn a bit about image editing.
First, I gathered some meme templates. I just hit up Google Images and typed in stuff like “bad manager meme template” and “funny boss meme.” Downloaded a bunch that looked promising. Nothing fancy, just the usual suspects like the “Two Buttons” meme or the “Distracted Boyfriend.”
Next, I needed some material about bad managers. That was easy. I just thought about all the worst bosses I’ve ever had. You know, the ones who micromanage everything, take credit for your work, or change their minds every five minutes. I even asked some friends for their horror stories. Got some doozies, let me tell you.
Then came the fun part – putting it all together. I used this free online image editor. It was pretty basic, but it got the job done. I opened the meme template and started adding text. For example, I took that “Two Buttons” meme and labeled one button “Actually listen to employees” and the other “Blame them for everything.” Then added a picture of a sweaty, nervous-looking guy above it labeled “My Boss.”
I made a few more, just playing around with different templates and bad boss behaviors. I did one with the “Distracted Boyfriend” meme where the guy is labeled “My Manager,” the girlfriend is “Deadlines,” and the other woman is “Useless Meetings.”
Some of My Creations
“Two Buttons”: One button says “Support my team,” the other says “Take all the credit.” The guy is labeled “Bad Manager.”
“Change My Mind”: The guy at the table has a sign that says “Micromanaging is effective.” Changed my mind, indeed.
“Drake Hotline Bling”: Drake disapproves of “Giving clear instructions” but approves of “Being vague and then getting mad when people don’t understand.”
Honestly, I spent way more time on this than I expected. But it was a blast. And hey, maybe I even learned a thing or two about what not to do as a leader. Or at least, I got a good laugh out of it. If you’ve got some time to kill, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s a fun and silly way to vent about those workplace frustrations.
