Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with cars for a while now, and I recently got my hands on a Land Rover Defender. Thing is, it was just too… standard, you know? Needed some personality. So, I decided to go all out and black it out. Here’s how it went down.

First things first, I started with the exterior. The body was the easy part. I wrapped it in a matte black vinyl. Took me a good few days, and man, was it a pain getting around all those curves and edges. But, totally worth it. Looks stealthy as hell now.
- Got the windows tinted. Not just a little, but full-on limo tint. Can’t see a thing inside, which is exactly what I wanted.
- Swapped out the stock wheels for some blacked-out rims. Went with a rugged, off-road design to match the Defender’s vibe.
- Even the badges and grille got the black-out treatment. No chrome left in sight. Had to take them off, sand them down, and then paint them. Tedious, but hey, details matter.
Next up was the interior. I didn’t want to go overboard, so I kept it simple.
- Replaced the seat covers with black leather ones. Feels way more luxurious now.
- Got some custom black floor mats. Keeps the dirt off the original carpet and adds to the whole blacked-out theme.
Now, while I was at it, I figured I might as well tinker with the tech a bit.
- Installed this cool remote system, InControl Remote I think it’s called. Lets me lock and unlock the doors from my phone, and even start the engine. Pretty neat for those cold mornings.
- I also noticed something about the water pump pully drive belt. I heard that it could be a problem, so I got that checked out and reinforced, just to be safe.
In the end, it was a ton of work, but I’m stoked with how it turned out. The Defender’s got this whole new vibe now, like it’s ready for anything. And the best part? It’s unique. Haven’t seen another one like it on the road yet. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, just be prepared for some long hours and a bit of frustration. But trust me, it’s worth it.
Next time I got some other plans cooking, I’ll write down to you guys for sure.
