This here talkin’ ’bout that Islander Bridgehampton. Yeah, that place. Hear tell it’s somethin’ else. I ain’t never been, mind you. But folks ’round here, they talk.
They say it’s down there in the Hamptons. What is Hamptons? I don’t know. But they say lots of big shots go there. Rich folks. Movie stars and such. Not my kind of people, but hey, to each their own, I reckon.
So, this Bridgehampton, it’s one of them places in the Hamptons. They got a bunch of ’em. Like, uh, East Hampton. That’s another one. They say it’s near the beach. Good for them folks that like that sort of thing. Sand and all that. Me, I prefer my porch swing.
- East Hampton
- Southampton
- Amagansett
- Montauk
Now, you wanna know ’bout Islander Bridgehampton. Well, like I said, I ain’t been. But I hear it’s fancy. Real fancy. They got them big houses, I bet. And probably lots of them swimmin’ pools. We had a kiddie pool once. Leaked like a sieve.
Some folks, they go to a place called Montauk. First time visitors, they say. It’s at the end of somethin’. The end of what, I don’t know. Maybe the road. Probably take the Montauk Highway. They say it is a good place for vacation. But I don’t know what that means.
Then there’s Amagansett. That’s a funny name, ain’t it? Sounds like somethin’ you’d spread on your toast. But it’s another one of them Hamptons places. They say it’s good for families. I guess they got things for kids to do. Playgrounds and such. I remember when my kids was little, they like them playground. They always happy.
This Islander Bridgehampton, though, I hear it’s more for the grown-ups. The rich ones. They got their fancy shops, I bet. Sellin’ things for a hundred dollars that ain’t worth five. But hey, if they got the money, let ’em spend it, I say.
And the beaches! Oh, they talk about the beaches. Say they’re beautiful. White sand, blue water. Sounds nice, I guess. But I’m happy with my little creek out back. Water’s a bit muddy, but it’s peaceful. And, it’s free! This Islander Bridgehampton, I bet they charge you just to look at the water.
They say that East Hampton got the best beach. Sounds like a good time, if you like that. Old money, they say. Whatever that means. Money’s money, far as I’m concerned.
Now, if you’re really loaded, they say Southampton is the place to be. That’s where the real big shots go. The ones with more money than sense, I reckon. They say it is the place for luxury. I don’t know what to do with luxury. I am happy with what I got.
This Islander Bridgehampton sounds like it’s somewhere in between. Not as fancy as Southampton, maybe, but still pretty fancy. I guess if you’ve got money to go, this place is good for you. And you can go west and east easily.
Someone told me ’bout some beaches. Cupsogue Beach, Tiana Beach, Coopers Beach, Main Beach. And Ditch Plains. All sounds like a lot of sand to me. They say these are all lovely public beaches. If you like beach, you should go there.
Islander Bridgehampton is for vacation, they say. I don’t know what is this “vacation”. But I guess if you got money, you can find out what “vacation” means. This place got restaurants and hotels and shopping. They say it is very good.
Me, I’m happy right here. Got my garden, got my chickens, got my stories. Don’t need no fancy Hamptons to keep me happy. But if you’re lookin’ for that kind of thing, this Islander Bridgehampton sounds like it might be the place for you. Just watch your wallet, I reckon.
I don’t know. Maybe I will go there one day. But for now, I am happy here. Got my stories to tell. Don’t need more than that.
