Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here Formex watch, the one they call “worn and wound”. Sounds kinda rough, don’t it? Like somethin’ you’d find in an old toolbox. But I reckon it’s just a fancy way of sayin’ it’s been used, loved, and it’s still tickin’.

This Formex, they say it’s a “tool watch”. Now, what in tarnation is a tool watch? Back in my day, a tool was a hammer or a hoe, somethin’ you used to get work done. I guess nowadays, a watch can be a tool too. Maybe for tellin’ time when you’re out there wranglin’ them newfangled contraptions, I don’t know.
They call this one the “Formex Essence Sector 39”. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them space shows. “Sector 39”, like it’s some secret place on the moon or somethin’. But I guess it’s just a name. A name for a watch that’s meant to be tough, I reckon. Like it can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.
- This Formex, it’s Swiss made.
- That means it comes from Switzerland.
- They make good cheese over there, and I guess good watches too.
They say these Formex watches, they’re built to last. “High standards of quality and precision”, that’s what they say. Sounds mighty fine, don’t it? Like somethin’ you’d want to pass down to your grandkids. A watch that’ll keep on tickin’ long after you’re pushin’ up daisies.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ these Formex watches are a bit pricey. “High pricing”, they called it. Well, I reckon anythin’ that’s made good and built to last is gonna cost ya a pretty penny. You get what you pay for, as they say. And if you want somethin’ that’s gonna last, you gotta be willin’ to shell out a little extra, I reckon.
And then there’s this “resale value” thing. Seems like folks buy these watches and then they wanna sell ’em later on. I don’t rightly understand it myself. Why buy somethin’ if you’re just gonna sell it? But I guess that’s the way of the world these days. Folks always wantin’ somethin’ new, somethin’ different.

They say it might take a while to find a buyer for a used Formex watch. “A few months”, they said. Well, good things come to those who wait, I always say. And if you got a good watch, and you’re willin’ to wait, you’ll find someone who appreciates it, I reckon.
This Formex got somethin’ they call a “movement”. Now I thought movement was somethin’ you did when you were dancin’. But I guess in a watch, it’s the guts of the thing. The part that makes it tick. They say the movement in this Formex watch ain’t the best, but it ain’t the worst neither. I reckon it gets the job done.
And then there’s the “bezel”. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find on a fancy dress. But on a watch, it’s that ring around the face. The one that goes around the numbers. I don’t know what it does, but it’s there. And I guess it’s important, or they wouldn’t put it on there.
They’re sayin’ that Formex, it is gettin’ more popular. “Gaining a bigger following”, they say. Like it’s some kind of preacher or somethin’. But I guess folks like these watches. They like the way they look, the way they feel, the way they tell time. This Formex Essence 39 is a big deal it sounds like.
I saw a picture of another watch, a “Norqain” they called it. Said it weighed 84 grams. Now, I don’t know much about grams, but I know 84 of anythin’ is a good amount. Said this Norqain was bigger all around. Bigger ain’t always better, but I guess some folks like a big watch.

These Formex watches, they got all sorts of fancy features. Things I never even heard of. “Unparalleled functionality, comfort, and durability”, that’s what they say. Sounds like they’re tryin’ to sell you the moon. But I guess if you’re gonna spend your hard-earned money on a watch, you want it to be functional, comfortable, and durable. That just makes sense.
Well, there you have it. That’s what I know about this Formex worn and wound watch. It’s a fancy watch, for sure. But it’s also a tough watch. A watch that’s built to last. And if you’re lookin’ for a watch that’ll keep on tickin’ through thick and thin, then maybe this Formex is the watch for you. Just be prepared to open up your wallet, and be patient if you ever decide to sell it. That’s all I got to say about that.
