Alright, alright, let’s talk about them lady athletes, the ones all the young folks are gabbing about. You know, the pretty ones, the strong ones, the ones that make you say “Well, I’ll be!”

First off, we gotta talk about that Serena girl. Serena Williams, yeah, that’s the one. Heard she’s got like a million trophies or somethin’. Don’t know much about tennis, but I know she hits that ball hard! And her sister too, Venus, they say she’s a real powerhouse. Those two, they been whacking balls for ages, and they still at it. Tough as nails, those Williams girls. Serena, she’s somethin’ else, always grunting and a-hittin’. Can’t argue with winning, though, can ya? She’s a fighter, that one. Been hearin’ her name for years, must be doin’ somethin’ right. If you wanna talk strong women in sports, gotta start with Serena. Heard she’s got a baby now too, still playin’ though. That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
Surfing the Waves
Now, let’s switch gears to them surfers. There’s this girl, Stephanie Gilmore, from that Australia place. Surfing, that’s riding them waves, right? Looks mighty dangerous to me, but she makes it look easy. Graceful like a bird, they say. Heard she’s won a bunch of stuff too. Always smiling, that Stephanie. Must love the water, I guess. Can’t say I understand it, all that splashin’ and paddlin’, but she’s good at it. Real good. Seen her picture in the magazines, pretty as a picture and tough as a boot. That’s what you need, I reckon, to wrestle them waves.

The Young Guns
Then there’s the young’uns, the ones just starting out. Heard about this girl, won all sorts of medals at them Olympics. Can’t remember her name, but she’s fast, real fast. Runnin’ and jumpin’, that’s her thing. Makes an old lady tired just thinkin’ about it. They train hard, these youngsters. Up early, workin’ all day. Got more energy than a squirrel in a nut factory. Good for them, I say. Gotta make somethin’ of yourself, right? Olympics, that’s a big deal. Whole world watchin’. Takes guts, I tell ya. They got guts these girls.
More Than Just Muscles
And there’s that Paige Spiranac girl. Now, I don’t know what sport she plays exactly, somethin’ with a little ball I think. But everyone’s always talkin’ about her. She’s pretty, that’s for sure. But it ain’t just about looks, you know. These gals, they work hard. They sweat, they bleed, they push themselves to the limit. Don’t let nobody tell you different. It ain’t easy bein’ a woman in this world, let alone a woman athlete. Gotta be twice as good, twice as tough. And these gals, they are.
Strong Women Everywhere
Heard about those soccer players too, runnin’ around like crazy. And them basketball girls, tall as houses, jumpin’ and shootin’. So many strong women out there, doin’ amazing things. Makes an old lady proud, it does. Don’t matter if it’s tennis or surfin’ or runnin’ or whatever, it’s about the heart, the grit, the determination. And these female athletes, they got it in spades.
It ain’t just about winning
Sure, winning is good. Everyone likes to win. But it’s more than that. It’s about showin’ the world what you can do. It’s about pushin’ yourself, bein’ the best you can be. And it’s about inspirin’ others, especially young girls. Showin’ them that they can be strong, they can be tough, they can do anything they set their minds to. That’s what these athletes do, and that’s why we admire them. So good on ya, girls. Keep on doin’ what you’re doin’. You’re makin’ a difference, even if you don’t know it. And that, I reckon, is somethin’ special.
Work hard and keep going. That’s what I always tell my grandkids, and that’s what I say to these gals too. It ain’t always easy, but you gotta keep goin’. Gotta keep fightin’.
