Okay, so today I tried to make that mac and cheese sandwich from Panera Bread, and let me tell you, it was an adventure. First off, I went to Panera’s website ’cause I figured it’d be easier to order online. I found the sandwich on their menu, and it looked so good in the pictures, all cheesy and melty.

I placed my order through their website. It was pretty straightforward, you just pick what you want, choose a time for pickup, and pay online. I got a confirmation email, and it said my order would be ready in about 15 minutes. I did arrive at the store.
When I got to Panera, I saw a shelf that said “Rapid Pick-Up,” and there was a bag with my name on it. I just grabbed it and was good to go, no waiting in line or anything. Super convenient, I gotta say.
Making the Sandwich
Back home, I was pretty excited to see the sandwich. Panera’s mac and cheese is famous, right? It’s always on those “best fast food mac and cheese” lists. I followed the instructions, which said to remove the lid and film, put the cup on a plate, and microwave it for 2-3 minutes. The sandwich was just bread, so I figured I could toast it a bit to make it all warm and crispy.
While the mac and cheese was heating up, I toasted the bread slices in my toaster oven. Once the mac and cheese was hot and bubbly, I spooned it onto one slice of the toasted bread and put the other slice on top. I pressed it down a little, and man, it looked amazing. All that creamy, cheesy goodness oozing out.
When I took a bite, the cheese was so rich and creamy, and the bread had that perfect crunch. It was messy, for sure, but in the best way possible. The white cheddar they use is seriously good. Like, I was impressed, especially for something from a fast-casual place like Panera.

- Ordering online was easy. The website was user-friendly.
- Pickup was a breeze. Just grab and go.
- Heating the mac and cheese was simple. Microwave for a few minutes.
- Toasting the bread added a nice touch. It made the sandwich even better.
- The taste was incredible. The cheese was super creamy and flavorful.
I was glad I tried this. Next time, I might try some of the modifications, that I saw that you can get more food for less. I read somewhere that Panera uses pretty clean ingredients, no weird chemicals or additives, so that’s a plus. And they bake their stuff really well, too. Anyway, I’m stuffed now, and I’ve got some leftover mac and cheese for later. Score! If you get a chance, you should try this sandwich. It’s a cheese lover’s dream.
