Okay, so I’ve been seeing these UGG Tasman slippers everywhere lately, and I finally decided to see what all the hype was about. Specifically, I got my eye on that limited edition Palace collab. They looked so cool and cozy in the pictures, and I just had to try them out for myself.
First thing I did was to look for them online. Man, those things were selling out fast! I checked a bunch of different websites, and they were either out of stock or way too expensive. I get that it is limited edition and all, but still. Finally, I found a pair in my size on some resale site. They were a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I figured it was now or never.
Waiting Game
After I ordered them, the waiting game began. I was so excited to get my hands on these slippers. Every day I’d check the tracking information like a hawk. It felt like forever, but eventually, the package arrived at my doorstep. I ripped that box open like it was Christmas morning.
The Reveal
There they were, in all their glory. They looked even better in person. I slipped them on, and oh boy, were they comfy. But something didn’t feel right. The sole felt really stiff, not flexible at all like my other UGGs.
I started to get a little suspicious. I remembered reading somewhere that real UGGs are supposed to have a flexible sole.
Digging Deeper
So, I did what any reasonable person would do – I started googling like crazy. I found out that authentic UGGs should come with some kind of holographic tag on the box and on the inside of the left boot. My box had a tag and so did the left slipper, but I was still feeling uneasy. The official UGG website has a whole section about spotting fakes.

I compared my slippers to the pictures online, and I noticed a few differences. The stitching looked a bit off, and the fur didn’t seem as fluffy. My heart sank. I think I got duped.
Lesson Learned
I guess the lesson here is to be super careful when buying stuff online, especially when it’s a limited edition item. It’s always better to buy directly from the official store or a trusted retailer, even if it means waiting a bit longer or paying a bit more. I’m still bummed out about my fake Palace UGGs, but hey, at least they’re still pretty comfy, even if they’re not the real deal. Next time, I’ll be more careful for sure.
- Be cautious when buying online.
- Verify authenticity before purchasing.
- Stick to official stores or trusted retailers.
Hope my experience can be a little reminder for you all!
