Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about this song, “What What (In the Butt)” by this guy Samwell. Man, this song is something else. I mean, it’s funny, ridiculous, and super catchy, all at the same time. I first heard about it years ago when it was like, this huge internet thing. I couldn’t stop laughing, and you know, I had to try and make some of my own music with it. And let me tell you, it wasn’t as easy as you’d think.

First, I spent a whole afternoon just listening to the original song and all the remixes I could find online. There’s the “Original Mix,” the “Brooks Get Lubed Dub,” and a bunch of others. Each one has its own vibe. The lyrics are pretty much the same, “What what, in the butt,” over and over again, but the beats are different.
Then, I started messing around with my own music software. I tried to sample parts of the song, loop them, and add my own beats. It was a mess, honestly. I’m no professional, just a dude who likes to play around with music in his spare time. I spent hours tweaking things, but it just wasn’t coming together the way I wanted. I was getting frustrated, but also, I couldn’t stop chuckling because, come on, it’s “What What (In the Butt).”
I decided to take a break and do some more digging into who this Samwell guy is. Turns out, his real name is Sam Norman, and he’s a flight attendant from Chicago. Who would’ve guessed, right? He just came up with this song, and it blew up.
After my little research break, I went back to my music project. This time, instead of trying to make a serious remix, I just embraced the silliness of it all. I added some goofy sound effects, pitched Samwell’s voice up and down, and just generally had fun with it. I was making something I will never show to anyone else, ever.
By the end of the night, I had something that was at least listenable, in a really weird way. It wasn’t going to win any awards, but it made me laugh, and that’s what mattered. I saved the project, called it a night, and decided I needed a hobby that didn’t involve repeating “What what, in the butt” for hours on end.

Here are some of the things I did:
- Listened to the original song and remixes.
- Tried sampling and looping parts of the song.
- Added my own beats and sound effects.
- Researched who Samwell is.
- Embraced the silliness and just had fun.
- Saved it and moved on to something else.
So, yeah, that’s my “What What (In the Butt)” adventure. It was a wild ride, and I probably won’t do it again, but hey, it was a good laugh. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll share my masterpiece with the world. But probably not.
