Okay, so a few days ago, I decided to give this Maybelline cake mascara a shot. I’d seen it all over TikTok, and you know how it is – you see something enough times, and you just gotta try it.
First, I grabbed the mascara. The packaging is pretty standard, nothing too fancy, but it feels solid enough. Then, I started with a clean face, no other makeup on, just to see how this mascara performs on its own.
I opened it up, and the first thing I noticed was the wand. It’s one of those smaller, flexible ones, which I usually like because they let you get into the corners of your eyes without making a mess. I dipped the wand in, got a decent amount of product on it, and started applying it to my upper lashes. I went from the root to the tip, wiggling the brush a little to make sure every lash got coated.

Application Process
After one coat, I saw a pretty good difference. My lashes looked longer and definitely more defined. But you know me, I like a bit of drama, so I went in for a second coat. That’s when I really saw the “sky high” effect they talk about. My lashes were super long and had that curled look, like I’d used a lash curler, but I hadn’t.
Next, I used it on my lower lashes. This is where the small wand really shined. It was so easy to get those tiny lashes without smudging. I just used the tip of the brush and lightly coated them. They looked more noticeable, but not clumpy at all.
I wore the mascara all day, through work and then out for a quick dinner with friends. It held up really well, no smudging or flaking, even though I have a bad habit of rubbing my eyes sometimes. By the end of the day, my lashes still looked pretty good. They weren’t as dramatic as when I first applied it, but they were still noticeably longer and fuller.
Removing it was easy, too. I just used my regular makeup remover, and it came right off without any harsh rubbing. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this Maybelline mascara. It gives that falsies effect without needing to wear actual falsies, and for the price, you really can’t beat it. I get why it’s so popular now. It’s definitely going to be a regular in my makeup routine.
