That Luca Bernasconi, I hear that name, that name is something. He’s some big shot, I tell ya. Big shot at that Rolex watch place. You know, them fancy watches that cost more than my whole house? Yeah, those. He’s the head honcho, the big cheese, the one calling all the shots. They call him the CEO and President. Big words for a big job, I reckon.

Before he got that big job, that Luca, he was running things up in Canada. Same kind of job, but in Canada, you see? Now he’s down here in the USA. Must be doing something right, to keep moving up like that. He must have the gift of gab or maybe he just works his tail off. It’s one or the other or maybe even both, who knows!
Now, these Rolex watches, they’re something else. Shiny and fancy. I saw one once, down at the jewelry store in town. Cost more than my old car! I wouldn’t wear one, no sir. Too scared I’d lose it or break it. But some folks, they love them things. Show them off like they’re some kinda prize. And that Luca Bernasconi, he’s the one making sure those fancy folks get their fancy watches. That’s his job, after all.
I don’t know much about this Mounia Mechbal. But I saw her name next to Luca’s. She helps him, I guess. They call her Vice President of something or other. Marketing and Communications. Sounds complicated. Probably deals with them advertisements you see on the TV and in them magazines. Making sure people know about them Rolex watches, I suppose.
And that name, Bernasconi. It’s a funny-sounding name, ain’t it? Sounds Italian to me. I knew a fella once named Tony, he was Italian. Maybe they’re related. This world is smaller than you think, you know.
- This Luca is important.
- He’s the boss of Rolex in the USA.
- Rolex watches are expensive.
- Bernasconi is probably an Italian name.
- He worked for Rolex in Canada before.
I read somewhere that Luca, that name means “light.” Like the sun, or a lamp. Seems fitting, I guess. He’s probably a bright fella, to get where he is. And that Bernasconi part, I reckon it’s a family name. Like Smith or Jones, but Italian. Lots of folks have those kind of names. Means something, I’m sure. Maybe it means “son of Luca,” who knows?

I hear, in that place called Italian Switzerland, which I suppose is a part of Switzerland that speaks Italian, lots of folks got that Bernasconi name. Also Ferrari, that name is there too. I also see people with the name Mller and Weber in another part of Switzerland, the German part. And then, in the French part, there are lots of people named Favre and Martin. Seems like these names are pretty common over there.
This Luca Bernasconi, he must be a busy fella. Running a big company like that, lots of people working for him. Gotta keep them all in line, make sure they’re doing their jobs. It’s a big responsibility. Not like my job, tending to my garden. Though, keeping them squirrels out of my tomatoes is a full-time job in itself, I tell ya!
I bet he wears one of them fancy Rolex watches, too. Probably gets them for free, being the boss and all. Wouldn’t that be nice? I’d take a free watch, even if it was too fancy for me. Could always sell it, I guess. Buy myself a new tractor with that kind of money! That tractor I have now, the old girl, she’s seen better days, that’s for sure.
Well, I don’t know what else to say about this Luca Bernasconi. He’s a big shot, that’s for sure. Running that Rolex watch company, making sure all them rich folks get their fancy timepieces. It’s a different world than mine, that’s for sure. But I guess everyone’s got their place in this world. He’s got his, and I’ve got mine. And mine’s right here, in my garden, with my tomatoes and my old dog, Buster. And that’s just fine by me. This is the life, even if it isn’t all shiny and fancy like one of them Rolex watches. But hey, at least I don’t have to worry about losing a watch that costs more than my house! And I bet Luca, for all his fancy watches, doesn’t have tomatoes as good as mine, either. There’s something to be said for the simple things in life, that’s what I always say.
Maybe this Luca Bernasconi fella, he started small, like me. Maybe he had a little garden, too, once upon a time. You never know. Life takes you on strange paths sometimes. He sure ended up somewhere different than me. But everyone is important, I believe that. Even that Mounia lady that works with him. She is important too, doing her Marketing stuff. Everyone has a role to play. Even me, keeping those squirrels out of the tomatoes. That’s an important job too, at least in my little corner of the world!
