Man, I gotta tell you about this little experiment I did the other day. You know that track “Homicide” by Logic and Eminem? That thing is a beast! I was curious, just how fast did Logic actually rap on that song? So I set out to figure it out, and let me tell you, it was a ride.
First, I pulled up the song. Listened to it a couple of times just to get a feel for it again. You know, set the mood. That beat by SHROOM and Bregma is just nasty. Anyway, after a few listens, I started focusing on Logic’s verse. That’s where the real speed happens.
- I played it at normal speed. Way too fast to count anything, of course.
- Slowed it down a bit. Still too fast.
- Slowed it down even more. Okay, now we’re getting somewhere.
I ended up slowing that bad boy way, way down. Like, crazy slow. At that point, I could actually start to distinguish the individual words, syllables even. It’s wild how much detail is packed into those bars when you really break it down.
Counting It Out
This part took some time, I won’t lie. I had to go over it again and again, making sure I didn’t miss anything. I even used a little online tool to help me count syllables, just to be extra sure. It was a tedious process, but hey, I was committed.
The funny part was watching the music video while doing all this. You got Chauncey Leopardi and Chris D’Elia playing the stunt doubles for Logic and Eminem, and it’s hilarious. Especially that bit at the end with Eminem spoofing Chris D’Elia’s impression of him. Classic stuff.
Anyway, after all that counting and re-counting, I finally got a number. And let me tell you, it was impressive. I’m not gonna give it away here, though. You gotta do your own digging if you’re really curious! But trust me, it’s worth the effort. It really gives you a new appreciation for Logic’s skill. He even said he feels like he doesn’t give a fuck anymore.

So yeah, that was my little adventure into the world of fast rap. It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me look at “Homicide” in a whole new light. Maybe I’ll try to tackle Eminem’s verse next. That dude is a whole other level of speed. We’ll see!
