Alright, so I’ve been thinking about changing up my hair color for a while now. I finally took the plunge and decided to try out Olia hair color. I’ve heard good things about it, and I liked that it’s ammonia-free. Plus, I figured it was time for a little change, you know?

So, I went to the store and picked up a box of Olia in a shade I thought would look good. I got home, and laid everything out. I put on an old t-shirt, ’cause you never know, and got started.
First, I mixed the color. It was pretty easy – just squeezed the developer and colorant into the applicator bottle and shook it up. It felt a bit like a science experiment, which was kinda fun.
- Mixed the developer and colorant
- Shook it all up
Next, I put on the gloves that came in the box – gotta protect those hands! Then I started applying the color to my hair. I started at my roots, ’cause that’s where I wanted the color to be the most intense. It was a little messy, but not too bad. The applicator bottle made it pretty easy to control where the color went.
Applying the Color
I made sure to really work the color into my hair, to make sure it was evenly distributed. I used a mirror to check the back of my head, and enlisted my roommate’s help to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?
After I got all of my hair covered, I clipped it up and waited. The instructions said to wait for 30 minutes, so I set a timer and found something to do in the meantime. It felt like forever, but eventually, the timer went off.

I hopped in the shower and rinsed out the color. It took a few minutes to get all of the color out, but eventually, the water ran clear. Then I used the conditioner that came in the box. It smelled really nice and left my hair feeling super soft.
Finally, I dried my hair and took a look. I was actually really happy with how it turned out! The color was vibrant and even, and my hair felt healthy, not dry or damaged at all. It was definitely a successful experiment. And you know what, I might just try a different shade next time!
So, if you’re thinking about trying Olia, I’d say go for it! Just make sure you follow the instructions and take your time. And maybe have a friend on standby to help you with the back of your head. Happy coloring!
